The following table gives a schematic overview of the new noise restrictions.

These restrictions are based on Quota Counts (QC), which are calculated on aircraft take-off, approach and sideline noise performance certificates.

New restriction applies to Chapter 3 marginally compliant aircraft as from 30 March 2025 as follows:

Marginally compliant aircraft

Take-off or landing of marginally compliant aircraft with a cumulative margin of less than 5 dB is forbidden between 23h00 and 05h59 local time (see AIP, EBBR AD 2.21, 1.1).

As of March 30, 2025, take-off or landing is prohibited of Chapter 3 certified aircraft according to ICAO Annex 16, Volume 1, Part 2 with a cumulative margin of less than 13EPNdB between 23h00 and 06h59. This noise restriction is imposed in the environmental permit of Brussels Airport Company, but without necessary prior application of the Balanced Approach-procedure (EU Regulation 598/2014). See AIP, EBBR AD 2.21, 1.1.”

Remark:

Belgium Slot Coordination reminds aircraft operators that they are required to respect these rules. Aircraft operators are responsible for monitoring that flights operating at Brussels Airport comply with the rules.
